Jerry Falwell finally kicked the bucket today. Which means he will face one of four options: He expects to achieve vindication by the off chance that some right wing, homophobic supreme being really does rule the universe. The other side of that coin is he may face the utopian god who really does appreciate everyone equally and even puts up with Falwell’s backward ideals. More than likely he wished he had lived like Harry Flint the instant he realized life ends in a wave of dark nothingness. However, I like to think the Hindus got it right and he’ll come back reincarnated as a dildo.
Let’s take a few moments to remember the deluded messenger of hate with his own quotes:
“AIDS is not just God’s punishment for homosexuals; it is God’s punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals”
“Labor unions should study and read the Bible instead of asking for more money. When people get right with God, they are better workers.”
“Christians, like slaves and soldiers, ask no questions”
“I do not believe we can blame genetics for adultery, homosexuality, dishonesty and other character flaws”
“If you’re not a born-again Christian, you’re a failure as a human being.”
“Grown men should not be having sex with prostitutes unless they are married to them”
“The Bible is the inerrant … word of the living God. It is absolutely infallible, without error in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as well as in areas such as geography, science, history, etc.”
“The idea that religion and politics don’t mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country”
“The ACLU is to Christians what the American Nazi party is to Jews”
“I hope to see the day when, as in the early days of our country, we don’t have public schools. The churches will have taken them over again and Christians will be running them.”
“[homosexuals are] brute beasts…part of a vile and satanic system [that] will be utterly annihilated, and there will be a celebration in heaven.”
“I do question the sincerity of people like the Reverend Martin Luther King…”
“I put all the blame legally and morally on the actions of the terrorist, [but America's] secular and anti-Christian environment left us open to our Lord’s [decision] not to protect. When a nation deserts God and expels God from the culture … the result is not good.”
“Homosexuality is Satan’s diabolical attack upon the family that will not only have a corrupting influence upon our next generation, but it will also bring down the wrath of God upon America.”
