Anna was getting ready for a shower when Remi suddenly decided she wanted in on the fun…and clean her clothes at the same time.

Squirt bottle bath
October 13th, 2010 Posted 7:57 pm
We are training Remi to develop a resistance to water boarding.
She loves this water bottle. If we leave it within her reach she will use it to immediately begin squirting herself in the face. She knows it’s her duty to stand up to any form of torture she may endure in public schools.
Smart Remi

For those of you who haven’t been able to interact with Rem-Rem this may give you some idea of her level of development. She’s a little tired here so she’s a little less alert than usual. Normally she will identify things much quicker and usually indepenently of my questions.
Remi paints chaos

Mommy bought finger paints!
This video is a bit longer than what I typically like to post but I don’t have time to edit it & she does something really cool at the end. It’s only like 90 second long so it’s not that bad.
Remi is walking!
July 4th, 2010 Posted 5:50 pm
We were getting pretty sick of hearing stories about 10 month old babies walking. At 14 months Remi was content with crawling. Why bother walking if you are lightning fast as a crawler?
She has been standing for 2-3 months. Teasing us with the idea of walking by bouncing up and down as if dancing to music. She would even cheat by walking while holding on to furniture. Despite our best efforts to encourage an untethered step Remi wasn’t interested.
About 3 weeks ago she took 2 steps for mommy. She let go of her furniture support and let her legs take her for a brief test. We thought she was ready to enter the bipedal world but there was to be no more excitement for another 2 weeks. Early this past week Remi took 9 wobbly steps to a pillow as daddy sat in shock. By Thursday it only took a little encouragement to “stand up” and she would walk with purpose.
By this time next week I expect she will be running agility courses.
One giant leap for Remi-kind…
April 24th, 2010 Posted 4:48 pm
At 1 year & 18 days old Remi crawled to her toy stroller (loaded with baby Grover) stood up and began “walking” behind the stroller.
It’s not quite as momentous as her first real steps but her first assisted steps are still pretty damn special.

Remi's favorite toy
June 27th, 2009 Posted 7:34 pm
I realize this video may not be the most exciting watching in the world to anyone other than us. I decided to post it because it’s a developmental milestone. In the video Remi is interacting with an electronic plastic bear. The white bear is attached to the green support column at the right of the screen.
This is the first time she is smiling and laughing without gas being directly involved. She is also very aware of her surroundings and able to track movement and, in this video, all the toys hanging from her playmat. She is specifically laughing and interacting with the bear. He doesn’t have a name yet but he is far and away Remi’s favorite toy.
Remi Swings!

Remi really likes the swing her aunt Abbie gave her!
